Big Podcast Announcement!
OK, I had planned to wait until the next episode of Thoughts Out of Context was up before making this announcement. But I felt this was too good to keep quiet.
I've lined up an interview for the first episode of the new year, tenatively sheduled to be up January 9th. And my guest for this interview is none other than Lewis Lovhaug, more popularly known as Linkara of the comic book blog and video review series Atop The Fourth Wall.
The interview is tenatively scheduled to be recorded sometime next week. Not sure of the exact date yet, but I will let you know once that is finalized. As such, I want you, my fans and listeners and his fans and viewers to come up with questions for him. I'm admittedly not a big comic book guy so my knowledge of the medium doesn't go very far beyond the basics. So please feel free to post your questions here, message them to me or e-mail them to dramaguycjm@verizon.net I will do my best to ask Lewis as many questions as I'm able.
So, there you have it. Thoughts Out of Context will be kicking off the new year in a big way. I hope you'll all be looking forward to this as much as I am.
And for those of you who may not be familiar with Linkara's work, check his blog out here - http://atopfourthwall.blogspot.com/ or go to www.thatguywiththeglasses.com and find him there. Trust me, you won't regret it.

Wii Fit Workout Diary - Day 1 (Take 3!)
So after another failed attempt last month, I'm once again attempting to stick to a Wii Fit regimen and post blogs about it here. You know what they say, third times the charm. OK, let's try this again!
Wii Fit Workout - Day 1 (07/09/09)
Vital Stats
BMI
Current: 33.21
Goal: 32.62 by August 9th.
Weight
Current: 224.2 lbs
Goal: 220.2 by August 9th
Wii Fit Age
32 (+7 years over real age)
Workout
Duration: 32 minutes
Yoga
-Deep breathing
-Warrior
-Standing Knee
-Palm Tree
Strength Training
-Single Leg Lift; 10 reps
-Sideways Leg Lift; 10 reps
-Lunge; 10 reps
-Plank; 30 seconds (Quite difficult, in my opinion. Basically, you rest your forearms on the Wii Fit Balance Board and hold yourself up in a push-up position for the time indicated.)
-Rowing Squats; 15 reps
Balance Games
-Ski Slalom
-Snowbaord Slalom (Hated this!)
-Penguin Slide
-Balance Bubble
Aeorbics
-Advanced Step (Kinda hectic, but fun. Not only do you step forward, backwards and to the sides; but advanced adds stepping on the board sideways, stepping up and kicking, plus clapping as you step. Perhaps after I improve my coordination somewhat, I'll attempt clapping while I step)
-Rhythm Boxing; 3 minutes (Fun, though some of my punches failed to register. Then again, it was also my first time trying this activity, so perhaps my timing was a bit off)
-Basic Run; short course

Wii Fit Workout Diary - Day 1
So as I mentioned in the most recent episode of my podcast, I bought a Wii Fit at the beginning of May and had used it a total of two times during that month. Yeah, real great investment there.
On June 1st, I decided that a new month was the perfect time for a new start. So I took it upon myself to re-start a Wii Fit workout regimen that day. Not only that, but I decided to post details about here and the other couple of blogs I maintain. I figure having people you know and strangers alike read about your success or failure makes for pretty strong motivation. And don't worry, I'm not going to post information about every single day. I think that would be overkill. Instead I'll more likely post a couple times a week in an effort to track my progress. That being said, let's get this started.
Wii Fit Workout -Day 1 (06/01/2009)
Vital Stats
BMI
Current: 33.53; Obese (I don't agree with this classification, but I'm not the one who programmed this thing)
Goal: 32.72 by July 1st
Weight
Current: 226.4 lbs
Goal: 221.3 lbs by July 1st
Wii Fit Age
35 (+10 years over real age)
Workout
Duration: 30 minutes.
I'm not that great with the Yoga portion of this program. I admit I'm not overly flexible and my balance is sometimes shaky at best. Some of the poses aren't too troublesome though. The Sun Salutation, for example, that I can complete without a problem. The Standing Knee... not so much. But I'm sure with continued use and practice, hopefully I will be able to improve.
Did a lot of strength training this day. Exercises included Single Leg Extensions, Torso Twist, Rowing Squat, Single Leg Twist and Lunges. Apparently I'm being given workout suggestions by way of combinations of strength training exercises and yoga poses... not at the same exact time, mind you.
Balance Games: While they seem fairly simple, they do provide a workout. Unlocked a new one while working out today called Balance Bubble. I have a feeling I'm going to be playing this one many times. The basic premise; You are in a bubble and must shift your body in order to move against the current of a river and to also steer away from hazards that would pop your bubble such as the jagged cliff edges and wandering bumblebees. The further distance I've traveled so far is a little over 500 yards (I think that's the distance they use), and I still only manage a one-star rating. Needless to say, I'm going to work at improving my score for this game.
Now onto the Aerobic section of the workout. Started off with the Hula Hoop. I have to remember to hold still while leaning forward when new hoops are tossed towards me. But apparently I've done well enough with this activity to unlock Super Hula Hoop. Exactly what that entails, I'm not sure yet. Perhaps in my next post I'll have some more information. Basic Step, I do all right with that exercise. Still need to work on my timing some more. But I'm sure that will come with practice. Basic Run, believe it or not, is my favorite workout out of everything I've unlocked and tried so far. I decided to try the long distance course for today's workout. According to my score, I burned a good amount of calories. Go me!
So there you go, the first day of my new attempt at a Wii Fit workout plan. I'm going to do my best to keep up with this and post my progress. Thanks for coming by and reading.
